New York Fishing Report for Lake Ontario and Salmon River

Capt. Troy Creasy
August 31, 2005
Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake Ontario Fishing Report

By: Troy Creasy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You heard the story, fishing is too good. Well it was. Than along came a hurricane. Things changed today as the currents, winds and fish were whacked out!

They didn't go far and things will rebound fast. We got most of the morning in and only hooked up with five. The wind blew from every direction and them it came 30 knots from the north. We packed it in. Done for the day.

But what a week it was. We boated more salmon in the last ten days then I have anytime since I started chartering. It really is that good. Not a lot else to say. They are here big time. 18 days to go and I am back on the river. Summer is all but gone I am afraid. Seems like I was just writing about spring browns.

Look for this water to give the salmon river it's first good push of fish. If you like hot fish and light crowds, I suggest you dust off the waders and come on up.

A Few pictures from the last couple of days!

Some of the largest fish we have seen in severl years!

Limit!

The Sutay Brothers; These boys can handle a rod. Man, do they put them away.

There you have it. Just a taste of what is going on out on the big lake. What a month August was. All I can say is Wow! Let's see what September brings.

Stay Tuned and good fishing, Troy
