Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

High Adventure Fishing Report 10/25/06

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We as fisherman are always asking for more water. Well you might want to watch what you ask for as you just might get it. Rain and more rain has flooded every stream river and ditch in the area. It is definitely tough fishing overall, but if you find the right spot, they are thee in big numbers.
The 2006 salmon run is winding down but there are still plenty of fish, getting at them is another thing. My best advice is to concentrate in the back channels, small streams and inside corners. Fish at your feet and do not wade out into the current. Two reasons.
One it is very dangerous and two the fish are right along the edges. Remember Fish close.
As November approaches our thoughts now turn to steelhead and brown trout. All this water will most assuredly bring in plenty of chromers and when things settle down, look out. It will be hot.
I have bounced all the over the area the last week. North to the black and west to Rochester, as well as everything in between. Took fish every trip but we earned them. Big water, brush, mud, snow and rain kept us on our toes.
They say a mild winter, we will see about that.
Not good conditions for photos, but I took a few.
Long time client Chuck with a black river boar
Nathan with his first salmon!
Young Steve Torwig with a small stream brown trout.
