Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

High Adventure Fishing Report 11/28/06
If you enjoy Fall fishing, don’t put that rod away just yet. Steehead fishing on the salmon river is about as good as it gets. Despite low water, fsh are being caught from top to bottom.
egg sacs in white and pink are domintaing the catch. Fish the heads and the tail outs of the pools, and don’t neglect the fast water. with all the warm weather the fish are still holding in the fast stuff.
The water flow on the oswego is still over13,000cfs. Many areas along the river are now fishable but please use caution. Steelhead and browns are dominating the catch, although there are still a few clean kings hanging around. Area driftboat guides have been very successful lately backtrolling. Hot-Shots and Rapalas in orange and gold, chartreuse and fire tiger. Drift fishing has been good with egg sacs in chartreuse, pink and white working well. Fish the edges and current breaks and any soft water where the fish can rest.
On Oneida lake The walleye fishing has been excellent. The water temperature has been holding at 46 degrees Fahrenheit and old marble eyes are sensing the onset of winter. It's time to continue building body fat for the “big chill. The Suspend Lazer Eye minnow has been our bait of choice. Blue/silver and black/silver stickbaits and Rapalas are also working well. The bass fishing is very good using shiners over the rockpiles and perch are active in both shallow and deep water. The deeper water, however, is producing larger fish.
