Salmon River Fishing Report

Capt. Troy Creasy
December 6, 2009
Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Mother nature shined on area steelhead fisherman by giving us rain over the past week. All area streams are open and dime bright fish are scattered from top to bottom.
Try pink, chartreuse and blue egg sacs and beads and work the pools from top to bottom.
The fish are on the move so don't be afraid to move around. The salmon river is still running around 335 cfs but there is some run-off which really helps. The Oswego is high but fishing very well. Same baits, same colors.

New Guests Bob and Jim have been spoiled rotten. Two days of non-stop action with some real bruisers mixed in. I told them not tot come back as will not have two days like this again.

Double Figures both days You just can't beat that

On Oneida Lake Night casting for walleyes continues to be good along the shore of Oneida Lake. With changeable weather conditions anglers need to use caution. Dutchman's and Lewis Point continue to be active areas. Perch are being taken along the rockpiles with worms and minnows. A reminder that bass season closed on November 30.

There is still plenty of good fishing open water fishing and plenty of fish. Don't put that rod away yet.
