Salmon River Report

Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Got Rain??

Today had to be one of the wettest days I have fished in years. It would stop for an hour or so and then come harder. Talk about wet.

Steve & his nephew Ryan picked today for thier first ever steelhead trip. It took us a while to get things dialed in and we struggled for the first few hours, but then it was on! We managed to land five including one nice brown. Lost a few more and missed a bunch. Bottom line is, it doesn't matter how you start, it is how you finish and we finished strong. A good wet damp day for sure.

Way too wet for any more photo's. Pink sacs and beads under floats. We plugged a handful of spots, but they didn't want the lures today at all.

Look for everything to pretty much blow out over the next few days. They only raised the flow to 1,150 and I don't know how they will ever hold it there.

The Sandy's are out of their banks, Oswego is 15,000 and rising and I project the Salmon will go way over 2,000 anytime now.

We continue to see plenty of fesh fish still coming in. What a great season.

I have plenty of days open, so if want to tangle with some hot winter fish, give me a call.

Target Species:

steelhead, brown trout
