Capt.Mike Dennis the Cape Fear Guide reporting that the red drum bite is steady in the creeks off the Cape Fear River.I fished yesterday found the red drum to be biting well through out the day.Carolina rig baited with finger mullet was the hot bait, fish were biting almost before the bait could hit the bottom.A number of red drum were seen schooling in water around 6" deep, but were just out of casting range, most of the fish we caught were in about 3' of water.
