Carolina Beach Speckled Trout bite has started. Capt. Mike has fished three days in a row this week in the local waters around Carolina Beach catching the North Carolina Speckled Trout limit each day.
The weather this week has been exceptional with light winds and plenty of sunshine with temperatures in the low 70's. The Speckled Trout have been biting the last two hours of the rising tide, and two hours after the passing of the high tide. Baits used were Billy Bay Shrimp 1/2 oz.,Vudu Shrimp 4" Jumbo, the trout have also been hitting live shrimp under a popping cork. The redhead white body mirrolure has been the alternative bait. Fish size has been mostly in the 20" size with some fish 24" to 26"
The Speckled Trout have been caught around pilings and floating docks, and out in front of the smaller creek channels.

Carolina Beach Fishing Forecast:

Cooler weather is forecasted Speckled Trout should be around for quite some time. They will move into areas where they can find the warmest water on the colder winter days.

Speckled Trout.
