Flounder, Drum, and Trout in the Cape Fear

Capt. Owen Sewell
May 19, 2008
Carolina Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing is getting better by the day. We have dolphin and king mackerel eveerywhere offshore and flounder drum and trout inshore. The wind has been kicking us around lately so we decided to go inshore fishing the past two days. The frst day was our yearly tournament and we finished well into the money with a 3 lb flounder as well as three more solid two lb fish. We just couldnt pull out a trout to top off the flounder, but we did catch a black drum and redfish. The next day we carried out some great guys from Charlotte that wanted some fish no matter what the wind was. WE headed back to our hole and pulled out five more flounder up to 2.5 lbs, a striper, and a drum for what some people around here call a river slam. Come on down and join us for a day of fishing, we can carry you offshore, nearshore, or inshore depending on your taste. Keep in mind that if you are an experienced fisherman and would like to fish a tournament, you can charter the boat for any flounder or king mackerel tournament coming up.
