North Carolina-Carolina Beach Report Spanish, Kings, and Cobia

Capt. Owen Sewell
June 4, 2008
Carolina Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Summer fishing is beginning and will be in full swing.......along with the heat. Lately, Spanish Mackeral have been the hot bite for us and they have been biting and jumping well to provide constant action in the morning. Off shore about 10 miles, the King Mackerel are biting and can be caught on the downrigger for those smoking fast runs and plenty of action for the whole family. Cobia have showe dup to add an extra excitment to the mix when you see this brown beast pop up behind the boat. One of the best eating fish in the ocean and pound for pound probably the most durable opponent that you will ever face. This fish will continue to show up for the next month and a half, than the sailfish will be here to add some billfish action to the inshore mix of kings and dolphin. Finally, Dolphin are around, but continue to hang just offshore waiting to come in with an east wind I guess.
