Virgina Mullet, Speckeled Trout, and WIND

Capt. Owen Sewell
April 7, 2008
Carolina Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well, the fishing was good last week, until the wind and the rain moved in. We had good catches of virgina mullet and excellent reports of speckeled trout, if you had live shrimp. The wind moved in with the rain and now we have no idea how that will affect them. We have not been able to get offshore for the past month it seems, but the grouper should be out there ready to chew and the kings should be heating up as well. The bluefish have moved offshore and seem to be a good fishery right now and should stay like this throughout the summer with the spanish mackeral coming in to join them.
Give us a call,
Capt. Owen
