Wrightsville Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Report: November 17, 2004
Hi Folks,
Many apologies for it being so long since my last report. We have had several stretches of bad weather and it looks like we may be in for another blow the next day of two, but right now the fish are biting. The water temp is just right...64-65.
Here's my report: November 17, 2004
Inshore: Fishing has been real mixed for red drum and black drum. There have been a few flounder caught, but the best story is trout. If you are lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, the trout fishing has been great. Very early fishing...before sunrise has been the best.
Nearshore: Gray trout and false albacore have been hot. We caught and released 20 fat alberts today. We also got 15 nice gray trout. Best baits have been jigs in the green or pink hues.
Offshore: There are still some king mackerel around the 20-30 mile areas. Look for water temperature of 68 or better.
Gulfstream: Outstanding catches of wahoo have been made when the weather permits stream fishing. Yellowfin and blackfin tuna are biting as well.
