Wrightsville Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Period Ending November 11, 2004
Report for the Period Ending November 11, 2004:
Hi Folks,
Well we have our share of wind this week, and cold weather to boot. But through it all we have fished and had some good results. From large numbers of gray trout, to red drum, to black drum, blues, albacore and even a stray flounder or two, we have had a good week. I got some Lunker Sauce from Bug-Em Bait and tried on some curly tails and shrimposters and the stuff really works. I have added it to my arsenal of "professional" tricks.
Now here's my report:
Inshore: Speckled trout fever is building and so are catches. Look for next week to start the strong run for these favorites. Fresh shrimp is catching red and black drum along with sheepshead and other good fishes. Fish the ICW docks and the Masonboro Inlet jetty.
Near Shore: Gray trout are biting strong. Best way to catch them is with your favorite metal jig, worked right on the bottom. (Watch out for the netters and join the CCA so we can stop them) Huge schools of bluefish and false albacore are in the area and providing lots of non-stop action.
Offshore: The kings have moved out a bit and with deceasing water temps will be on the move now. Look for them in 68 degree water. Cigar minnows have been working well.
Gulfstream: We are still having an excellent bite on wahoo. Some tuna are mixed in and a few mahi are still around as well.
Lot's of good fishing ahead, in November and December, and then when you can't fish, in March there will be my fishing school. You can learn and get geared up for the 2005 season, just before spring arrives with the fish. For more information, please see http://www.rodmancharters.com/first_annual_rod.htm
