Steelhead Still Going Strong

Capt. Cory Godell
November 2, 2017
Bend - Freshwater Fishing Report

Dry fly fishing isn't just for trout. When the water conditions are right and fish are grabby you can fish dry flies aka skaters for steelhead. With one exception of a week ago we have had a lot of both this season. And to make things better we've had the river pretty much to ourselves this fall. This skater fish was taken at camp just three days ago.

The Deschutes steelhead season is winding down so if you have hit the river yet better do it soon.

Target Species:

Steelhead

More Fishing Reports:

We offer several different fishing trips. We guide the Deschutes River from May through November where we do 1 to 5 day float trips. In the March and April we do day trips on the Owyhee River for big brown trout. Lastly we do day floats from December through April chasing winter steelhead on the Sandy River just outside Portland OR.
