Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

Action continues HOT for all species, from MARLIN on down.
WAHOO have seen the biggest increase in numbers , with many , many fish over 50 lbs.
SAILFISH continue to hit plastics, live bait, even rapala's. Bonito belly baits, fished short off the rigger's, are deadly on them. And there's always the chance that a huge YELLOW FIN TUNA will go ballistic and take your reel on a screeching run before getting it under control. They LOVE it when those belly baits skip and dance on the surface.
CUBERA SNAPPER are hitting both chunked bonitos and the livey's. Many fish in the 40-60 lb. class.
Action on ROOSTERFISH and other inshore species is steady. Live blue runner's , slow-trolled around CONTRERAS Islands, Islas Paridas, Islas Secas, will get you on the gallo's.

Boca Chica Fishing Forecast:

All species will continue EXCELLENT in the coming weeks and mnths.
Look for more, and bigger dorado to come around.
Sailfish will slow down a bit, but they'll still be around in numbers to make a few a day a possibility.
Bring Yo-Zuri "surface cruiser" poppers, all colors, but blue/white and green mackerel work about the best.
Also, a supply of butterfly jigs, pink/white, white glow, and a stock of stinger hooks will get you that 300 lb. Yellow Fin !!
Inshore, reef will remain excellent.
