Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

Had two charters targeting big yellow fin tuna out around Isla Montuosa and the Hannibal Bank last week. We never even MADE it to the Bank !
Porpoise , and tuna below, were centered off Montuosa, with so many bonito around, why would they move?
Big Yo-Zuri ¨surface cruisers¨poppers in dark purple, chatreuse, and blue/white/pink were all slammed and had their paint jobs severely altered before my clients begged, ¨NO MAS¨!
Had 6 tuna over 120, with a 190 pounder the top slot.
Deep jigging with BRAID and Shimano butterfly jigs off both Montuosa and Isla Ladrones brought up some very nice cubera and red snapper, and a 46 lb. gag grouper. Many smaller snapper species were caught and released, and we had a lot of heavy fighting with Taliban -trained Jack Crevalle.
Wild action. Only one marlin taken, on a big MoldCraft Super Wide Range(red/black), and it was released unharmed after a two hour battle. We estimated her at 450 lbs.
As my clients wanted to specifically target these species, we didn´t really fast troll for wahoo, but sometimes it´s just impossible NOT to hook up the Hoo´s. Had some great hoo steaks marinated in our ¨Special Sauce¨that had everybody smilin´.
Boca Chica Fishing Forecast:

Look for WAHOO to continue excellent. Marlin will taper a little , then pick back up in mid-November.
Inshore, and near shore will continue excellent for roosters, snappers, groupers, African pompano, corvina, and some snook in the estero.
Book early for this High Season, January to MAy.
We´ll be ready for you !!
Good Luck Fishing, WHEREVER You Are !! Capn Bob
