Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

Costa Rica Wide Open Bite on Billfish !!
The waters outside of GOLFITO, now rated #2 in the WORLD as a sailfishing destination, are alive with the "Pez Vela" and some very big BLUE MARLIN.
Black MARLIN are being hooked up closer in, on the 200 meter line.
Yellowfin tuna to 300 lbs. are still farther out, and the big school is still very active.
Seas are very calm, and the longest run, to the tuna, is only 20 miles. Piece of CAKE !!
Remember, if you come down, bring some CIRCLE HOOKS, 7/0. 8/0 , and 9/0 will make a nice gift for your captain. Those sizes, from Penn or Daiichi(red) will cover all your billfish needs.
We're awaiting the arrival of our British agent, Mr. John Hildreth. He'll be flinging flies at the billfish, and has a blue marlin on his wish list.
Capt. Tom Sydowski and girlfriend Lori had a wonderful day offshore with Capt. JOSE GUERRA, raising 9 sails hooking 4 and releasing three. Also had a beauty of a dorado , 41 lb. bull, for the grill. It was Lori's first ever sailfish, and she was still talking to herself long after the trip ended. Something like," Never saw anything like that in MY LIFE !!"
Inshore remains strong. Not too much pressure on the roosters, as all boats are heading offshore.
We had some beautiful CORVINA and two big CUBERA SNAPPERS last Wednesday for Capt. SLOAN GURNEY, another Long Island charter capt. on vacation with Capt. Sydowski. The boyz from Orient Point know how to catch em'!!
Contact me at [email protected], or call 011.506.776.0007, and get your friends together . It's HOT !! The fishing, that is.
Good Fishing, Capt. Bob
