Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

COSTA RICA OFFSHORE
Big catches of YELLOWFIN TUNA is the game outside. Good numbers of tuna in all size classes.
Wahoo making a good showing, hitting Marauders and feathers trolled for tuna.
DORADO are in good numbers and hit anything in the water.
MARLIN sightings are a daily occurence, but many times they are full of bait(like 10 lb. tunas and bonitos) and just come in to check things out. Maybe one slash of the bill to get everybody pumped.
August will be the time for your Black MARLIN of a lifetime. We have an excellent run of big blacks , usually the last two weeks of the month.

COSTA RICA INSHORE
Roosterfish, big ones are hitting well. Live sardines and blue runners sent deep for cubera snapper and grouper sometimes don't make it. Roosters pick up the bait on the drop.
Corvina in good numbers.
Some big snook in the river out in front of the lodge, along with red snapper and corvina.
Fast trolling rapala's and Marauders around structure like our famous fish magnet, Cabo Mata Palo, can result in most anything up to and including some hefty WAHOO.
Some good discounts to be had during this season, with plenty of action !!
