Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

Panama Offshore
We've had some great days, and some slow days outside since the New Years charter with shawn Taylor and son Matthew.
High water temps have made the billfish a little fussy about coming up into the 87 degree water on top,
so we went with planers at 80 ft. with rigged /split mullet and bonito belly down there. Working great !!
Isla Ladrones has been on and off, like the rest, so we've been trolling the slot towards Punta Burica, where the fish seem to be congregating.
Dorado are in this area most every day, and SOMETIMES small yellowfin, but lately we haven't seen too many yellowfin.
Isla Montuosa continues to produce, with slow-trolled. circle hook bridled bonitos doing the most catching.
Had a nice blue marlin on for a bit there last week, but when she took the bait, and cr the bonitos head, the hook went back inside the baits gill cover and didn't go in. She stayed on until she opened her mouth, and then Patooie !! we had sancocho.
Roosterfish at Parida and Secas Islands on blue runners and poppers. Great fun.
When the water starts to cool a bit, the big tuna should arrive. Won't be long.
