Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

Friends, angling here has been way past intense the past week or two. WAY past !
Yellow fin tuna to 200 lbs. continue to slam fast roasted surface poppers out at Montuosa Island, and at the Hannibal Bank. There was some tuna action just outside Isla Ladrones on Thursday, with a few nice fish taken.
Wahoo trolling just about anywhere is very productive, with the areas outside Islas Paridas , all the way over to Islas Secas, and around Contreras, our main WAHOO hotspots.
Black MARLIN are being taken on feather-caught, and then circle hook-rigged, small yellowfin and/or bonitos. We had two over 600 at Montuosa Wednesday and Thursday.
We always have time to drop a live or cut bonito down on a snapper structure, and we hit em' with butterfly jigs with great success as well. Last wk, the jigs ruled!
Took two off the same rock at 100 ft., one a very nice ROCK SNAPPER of 18 lbs., and the other a big CUBERA weighing 37 lbs. Two more hits were taken down into the coral and rock faster than the anglers could react.
Reports of very nice catches of corvina in the estuary, but we've not had time to spend a day on them. Maybe this week !!
Hope to hear from all of you soon. Getting ready for next summer season !
Meanwhile, GOOD FISHING ! WHEREVER you are in the world ! Capn Bob
