BIG Tuna--And BIGGER Marlin !!!

Capt. Bob Baker
August 19, 2009
Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

Isla Montuosa and the Hannibal Bank are loaded with very big yellowfin tuna at this writing.

Black Marlin are also in very good numbers at both locations, along with Isla Ladrones area, and in the ¨trench¨that runs all the way into Puerto Armuelles.

Ten miles outside Ladrones, we found a huge trash line, lots of floating logs, that held dorado (mahi), and we even raised 4 sailfish while trolling alongside the current line.

WAHOO are all over the place, but we´ve had our most enjoyable days on the west side of Islas Secas, out around the ¨Bruja¨, always a good spot.

Boca Chica Fishing Forecast:

This is a great time of year for all types of fishing in our area of Panama.

I am also researching some spots for big ROBALO (snook), and will have a report on our findings in future reports.

Right now, we´ve got some really good spots to anchor up and enjoy some great angling for corvina and pargo(snapper) in the vast estuary that extends all the way from the outskirts of David to Boca Chica.
