Wahoo, Big Tuna Offshore--Corvina, Snappers Inside

Capt. Bob Baker
June 23, 2010
Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing remains great to excellent here in our area, and will get even better!

VERY good numbers of wahoo are keeping anglers busy. But make sure to bring a light rainsuit.

Yellowfin tuna continue excellent , with many over 100 lbs. taken with poppers and butterfly jigs down deep.

Isla Montuosa , my favorite jewel in this part of the Pacific, is hard to beat.
There are also enough big black marlin around to make things very interesting.
Bait , squid , bonito, small tunas, are all in good supply.

Inshore, the estuary below David is teeming with fat snook and corvina.

Out around Islas Paridas, we're taking roosterfish, snapper, wahoo, and many other species, including some very tasty African pompano. Trolled blue runners, rapala's, and live sardines are all top baits.

Look forward to steady fishing in the coming weeks and months, with a big seasonal run of Black Marlin in August-September.

Good Fishing, WHEREVER you are in the WORLD !
Capn Bob
