Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

Angling for large yellow fin tuna remains the hot ticket here, with no signs of a letdown.
Tuna over 200 lbs. are being taken on surface poppers and also with large butterfly jigs in most all areas.
However, Isla Montuosa and the Hannibal Bank remain tops for those great fish.
Black Marlin are also being taken with regularity
in these same spots. Blacks to over 800 lbs. are taken on circle hook rigged live bonitos, slow trolled off the stern or from the outriggers.
All other fishing, especially WAHOO, continue excellent. Some very nice cubera snappers in the 50-60 lb. class taken on the Bank and off Isla Ladrones.
Look for these species , and many others , to continue good to excellent in the coming months.
