Susquehanna River - Freshwater Fishing Report
Susquehanna River Smallmouth bass fishing around Harrisburg has been great this week. Lots of fish are coming on spinnerbaits and they are absolutely CRUSHING it. We have also had some really good numbers on tube jigs as well, but the size of those fish have been smaller in comparison. We have been fishing many areas from Wrightsvile all the way to Port Trevorton. Our best bite by far has been the moving baits to draw aggressive strikes. We boated quite a few 20"+ fish this week with the biggest just shy of 21". This bite should continue to get better as the majority of the fish are fully recovering from spawning activities.
The catfish bite has been good but the size has not been quite what I like to see. A few bigger fish are being caught, but the majority have been in the 6-12 lb range. Reports of a couple 20-30# fish are starting to surface once again.
Call if you are looking for a date in the next few months. I do have dates open to get you to the Smallmouth or Flathead Catfish.
