Fishing October week #2

Capt. Luis Iglesias
October 14, 2012
Fajardo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Saludos from PR!!!

The Club Deportivo del Oeste Light Tackle Blue Marlin Tournament. Edition #24 went on last weekend around 67 boats released 43 fish. The inboard division top boat The Jean B and the outboard division top boat was The Sit On. The bite wasn't as expected but all participants had tons of fun under the Sun.

The Club Nautico Boqueron had their blue marlin tournament, a one day event 27 boats signed and six fish were released. The Chatarrita took top boat in the inboard division scoring a double header in the last fifteen minutes and The Hilito was the top boat in the outboard division.

The mahi mahi are becoming more abundant as well as the wahoo. The sailfish are starting to arrive and the fullmoon at the end of october calls for the end of the blue marlin season. That means putting to storage the heavy tackle and The light tackle comes to play.
