Mahi-Mahi under Sargasso Weed

Capt. Andy DeJesus
May 12, 2015
Fajardo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Kingfish were very active during the month of April. The nice weather allowed us to persue both inshore and offshore fishing opportunities. May has also started with good weather and we have been able to spend a lot of time offshore. During the first few weeks of May, we've been finding a lot of Sargasso weed. These weed lines have been holding a good amount of Mahi-Mahi. They are hungry, willing and make excellent table fare. Closer to shore, the kingfish bite has not diminished. The wind has increased recently, but we hope next week will bring calmer seas. We are also getting ready for blue marlin season which is just around the corner.
