September Moon Fishing Report

Capt. Luis Iglesias
September 27, 2014
Fajardo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Saludos from the Island of Enchantment.

September has turned into a transitional month having more winter species than billfish. The International Billfish Tournament of San Juan IBT 61, ran with the moon cycle, with around 50 vessels releasing 42 blue marlin in four days of fishing. Comparing with the IBT 60 that had 120 Blue Marlin released. The down welling of bait made the bite slow.

The reports from the west side of the island reveal that the bite at Pichincho Bank is hot also the DR.

Ourselves had no billfish action in September but had tons of fun with the yellow fin tuna and the mahi mahi. The Winter bite seems to be promising and we already are down scaling the tackle in the prelude of the November Sailfish Run.
