Broad River Reds

Capt. Rick Percy
March 15, 2012
Beaufort - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Redfish bite continues strong in the Broad river. The most success has come on higher water, as the tide moves over the shells. Fished a scouting trip this morning for tomorrows charter, and found 7 schools of fish on a 400 yard stretch of bank. I couldn't get these fish to bite on the very low, but once the tide turned and started back in they were more cooperative. I put two in the boat that weighed over 7 lbs each, both on mud minnows. Gulp jerk shads have also been working pretty well, fished on a flutter hook.

Beaufort Fishing Forecast:

Redfish will remain our primary target for another several weeks, but when the water temps hit 68, we will move to Cobia as they will enter the sound.
