Catching them in Lowcountry around the fronts

Capt. Rick Percy
March 13, 2015
Beaufort - Saltwater Fishing Report

The last month has been a challenge to say the least for charter guides in the lowcountry. We've had lots of rain, and the wind has blown a lot. Having said that, the bite has still been pretty fair. I had two trips this past week, and we put 21 Redfish in the boat on the first, and then 12 fish between 5 and 8 lbs on the last trip. But it has been feast or famine. Lots of fishing until we would get on a school that would bite, and then lots of catching. Caught them on mud minnows and live shrimp under a popping cork. The nearshore wrecks and reefs have been really hot. Capt Chris Mattson, a good friend, pounded them the past few days. Sheepshead, Black Drum, and big Black Sea Bass were all in is bag. And lots of them. If you can get out there the bite is incredible.
