Nearshore reefs and wrecks producing great

Beaufort - Saltwater Fishing Report
Have started out my summer pattern of fishing the nearshore wrecks and reefs, most of them within 3 miles of the beach. There are a number of these locations located between Hilton Head and St Helena Sound. GPS coordinates for most of them are available from sc.gov. Search the artificial reef sites. The species available on these wrecks is almost limitless. My trip yesterday we landed Weakfish, Speckled Trout, Ladyfish, Bluefish, Black Sea Bass and Jack Crevalle. I also catch Flounder, Redfish, Black Drum and Sheepshead, and Spanish Mackerel are frequent visitors. Lots of bites are the norm, as we put 83 fish in the boat yesterday with 2 anglers. Only kept 3 nice Weakfish for their dinner. A bucktail tipped with a chartruese gulp swimming mullet is my favorite bait. The wreck we were fishing is on 12 feet deep at low tide, so 1/2 ounce bucktails work just fine. Lots of fun on light tackle.
Beaufort Fishing Forecast:
Wreck and Reefs should stay hot through the Fall.
