Tarpon bite is strong in the Broad River

Capt. Rick Percy
August 23, 2012
Beaufort - Saltwater Fishing Report

Had a trip Saturday with a Chris and Erin Skinner from Jacksonville. Erin has had catching a Tarpon on her bucket list for 10 years, so we sat up on a flat's edge and watched several smash the Menhaden as they flowed through our area on the outgoing tide. Wasn't long until Erin hooked up, and an hour and a half later we put a really big fish in the boat. The bite should last another month or so here in the low country. Along with our Redfish and sea trout bite, fishing has been excellent. Should continue now on through the fall.
