Trout bite still hot in Lowcountry cooler temps

Capt. Rick Percy
January 10, 2013
Beaufort - Saltwater Fishing Report

Our water in the Beaufort and Hilton Head area continues to remain in the low 50's. The trout bite is still very good as I put 19 in the boat yesterday on a scouting trip. With a forecast in the mid 70's over the weekend, the water may warm a few degrees more and the bite continue. Most years our trout bite has shutoff by this time. Redfishing is still good. Many anglers have switched to a low tide window now as the fish are schooling pretty well on the flats. This scenario will be our best bet for Reds now through mid April.
