Charleston - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well March and April have defintly stood up to thier nick names the Windy Months

but water temps are on the rise and so is the BITE!!! There has been a lot of Bait showing up such as menhadens and mullets and crabs in the harbor, creeks, and flats. Redfish and trout have come out of there sluggish winter habits and are feeding active. The trout are around the sounds, inlets, and beaches were the will spend most of the summer. This is a great time to catch a big 20inch + Trout the next couple months with plenty of 12-15inch fish around too.
The Redfish bite has been good on the flats and around structure.1/2 of a blue/crab and live shrimps are the bait of choice and with a few top water bites early before the wind kicks up.The reds are starting to feed in the spartina grass on high tides looking for fiddlers and crabs this is a good time for Fly/Spin Anglers to catch tailing Reds.
Cobia ,jack crevalle , tripletail ,spanish mackerel and variety sharks will be moving in local waters for Fly/Spin Anglers.
Tides a wasting !!
