Nearshore Fishing

Capt. Alex Pennekamp
August 16, 2018
Charleston - Saltwater Fishing Report

The king mackerel bite is off the charts right now. Almost every piece of live and hard bottom is holding king mackerel. Slow trolling menhaden and mullet is working very well. Trolling rapalas and spoons is also proving to be very effective.
Kings are ranging from 10lbs to 40lbs, with the best depth being around 70ft.
