Capt. Jim Files

Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE

LARGEMOUTH are roaming along 4'-8' banks with chuck rock or rock piles. Our clients are most successful using char./pepper Creme Super Tubes, white/chartreuse 1/8 or 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits and 1/4 oz. Spin Traps. If the bite slows down switch to a Creme Devil's Tongue on split shot rigs. SMALLMOUTH are holding on flats with rock piles and boulders in 3'-10'. Our most productive technique is working into the wind throwing chartreuse Creme Super Tubes, 1 1/2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and shallow running parrot colored crankbaits and bouncing them off of rocks.
