Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report
CANYON LAKE
LARGEMOUTH fishing is good in 2'- 6' along flat rock banks and over gravel flats of creeks on Golden Shiner 1/4 Terminator Spinnerbaits, pumpkin/chartreuse Zilla lizards and watermelon or amber 3" Super Tubes (very clear water, smaller lures). SMALLMOUTH to 4.5 lbs.
are holding in 4'-10' over rock piles and submerged jetties in "the lower end" of the lake. 1/8 chartreuse
Terminator spinnerbaits, chartreuse 3" Super Tubes and Devil's Tongues are good choices.

LAKE LBJ
LARGEMOUTH are on the move and roaming secondary creek
channels and ditches in 2'-6' as they head into spawning grounds. Chartreuse or watermelon 3" Super Tubes (Creme Lures), white/chartreuse 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits and Devil's Tongues will work.
In deeper water try a watermelon 1/4 oz. Terminator jig
& claw trailer of watermelon Scoundrel worm.
CRAPPIE in the 12"-16" class are spawning in 1'-3' taking chartreuse 1/32 oz. Tiny Tubes and Curb's crappie jigs.

CHOKE CANYON RES.
LARGEMOUTH to 12 + are very good in 1'-4' of water in Possum, Greyhound and Mason Point (But you should be familiar with the area to avoid problems) White/char.
3/8 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits, watermelon/chartreuse
1/4 or 3/8 oz. Terminator jigs and Zilla lizards fished
bank shallow are all producing some great fish. Down lake look for rocky points and work a crawfish 'Trap,
Golden Shiner Terminator spinnerbait, watermelon
Scremer worm or watermelon plastic jerkbait.
