Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 87 degrees; 824.80':

BLACK BASS are good at night and very early on boat docks and along rip rap on black 1/4 oz. Terminator buzzbaits (www.terminatolures.com), topwaters like Berkley poppers (www.purefishing.com) and Texas rigged pro blue or red shad BBB curl tail worms (www.bigbitebaits.com). Try working rock piles and creek points with some grass using a watermelon 4" Sliding Weight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com), chrome and Ice Tea Scoundrel worms on whacky rigs (www.cremelure.com).

WHITE BASS are good at night using Lit'l Fishies,No. 1 Terminator In-Line spinners and Curb's crappie jigs.

CRAPPIE are good over brushpiles in 12'-16' and along bridge pilings on minnows and crappie jigs.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 86 degrees; 1018.10':

LARGEMOUTH are fair early in 3'-6' of water around boat docks on June Bug Whacky Worms(www.cremelure.com) white "Snap-Back" jerkbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) and later along shaded bluff ledges in 12'-25' of water on Carolina rigged pumpkin/char. claws 4" Sliding Weight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com), and watermelon 4" Disc Worms (www.bigbitebaits.com) on split shot rigs and Berkley crankbaits (www.purefishing.com)

STRIPERS are good at daylight on the surface over 40'-50'using chrome/blue Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and threadfin Berkley topwater walkers. Also, trolling 1/2 oz. Curb's striper jigs and drifting live bait in 20'-40' will take linesides.

WHITE BASS are fair over 20' main lake points jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and Spin Traps.

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; N/A; 941' (dropping):

This lake remains closed to all boating interest until lake level reaches 920 msl.
