Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 84-86 degrees; 909':
Largemouth are good at first light in 4'-8' and later in 10' to 20' deadsticking watermelon-red Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), Carolina rigged pump-char. Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) lizards and watermelon JDC 4" Skip-N-Pop (www.jdcbaits.com).
Upriver, motion baits produce the first couple of hours of daylight on 3'-6' flats on channel turns using Rat-l-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com),
Zara Spook, JR. and white-chartreuse Terminator stainless spinnerbaits. Later, slow your presentation w/a whacky rigged rootbeer Scoundrel worm (www.cremelure.com) on a 3/0 "K" Whacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) or Texas rigged 4" pumpkin-char. Ring Worm pitched in the tops of laydowns and brushpiles.
Smallmouth are good at night tight to ledges along mainlake points using a black-red Terminator short-arm spinnerbait w/blk. Colorado blade, black-red flake 4" JDC Strike Grub and black medium running crankbaits.
