Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 62 degrees; 907.15' (3' low)

Largemouth are good along 5'-10' breaklines of flats w/

deep water nearby pitching a 5" somke-red JDC Craw,

Texas rigged green-pumpkin Scoundrel worms, and

3/16 oz. pumpkin Terminator finesse jigs with Uncle Josh trailers.

Smallmouth are very good over rockpiles and along bluff

ledges in 3'-10' on smoke colored 4" JDC grubs, 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps and split shot rigged Devil's Tongues.

Stripers are improving but surface activity remains short in 40'-60' vertically jigging Pirk Minnows, weighted white Snap Back jerkbaits and cranking or trolling deep diving Rogues.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 60 degrees; 1013.68' (6' low)

The off-on annual transition and feeding frenzy of bass is finally holding together with the much anticipated lower but stable water temps. Motion baits will still produce early and late then during the day pitching soft plastics and jigs produce best.

Largemouth are good along flats with stumps and laydowns in 4'-8' using 1/4 oz. Bleeding Shad Rat-l-Traps, white custom tungsten Terminator spinnerbaits and pitching a Texas rigged black-blue Super Tube Heavy.

Stripers are good to 25" in 26' around Shaw Island tight-lining live bait, vertically jigging Pirk Minnows, white Snap Back soft jerkbaits rigged on a 5/0 weighted Bait Jerker hook from Falcon Lures, white bucktails with plastic trailers and trolling 1/2 oz.

Lake LBJ: Water clear; 61 degrees; 825.91' (full)

Bass are good to 4.5 lbs. in 4'-10' along brushpiles, rip rap behind boat docks using black-blue Terminator 1/4 oz. rattlin'jigs with Uncle Josh pork trailers, swimming green-pumpkin JDC Stike Grubs and green-pumpkin Scoundrel worms .

Stripers are fair in the shoals on natural 3" Spoiler Shads,Rat-L-Traps and Terminator In-Line spinners.

Crappie are fair to good at night on minnows.
