Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report
Canyon Lake: Water clear; 86 degrees; 909.83':
Largemouth are fair in 3'- 8' at first light upriver along banklines and overhanding trees using Pop R's, watermelon Whacky Sticks, crankbaits and Flukes.
Smallmouth are good in 9'-20' along lake points and
ledges using rootbeer JDC grubs/craws and watermelon-red tubes on ball jigheads.
Stripers are slow to fair drifting live bait and trolling Gizz 4 and Shad Rap crankbaits on downriggers over 40' humps.
White Bass are slow.
Crappie are fair to good upriver in 8' on submerged brushpiles along channel breaklines using Curb's crappie jigs and live
minnows.

Lake LBJ: Water stained-muddy; 84 degrees; 824.60':
Largemouth are fair at daylight in 2'-8' along seawall
rip rap and docks using black/blue spinnerbaits and
Curb's Erratic jigs, JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters weightless watermelon-red Whacky Sticks.
White bass are slow.
Crappie are fair over brushpiles in 12' on minnows and
white Curb's crappie jigs.
Channel Catfish are fair on minnows and dip bait.
Yellow and Blue Catfish are fair to0 good on trotlines
with gold fish or perch.
