Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water: clear; 69 degrees; 909':

Largemouth are very good over flats, along breaklines creeks and bays in 2'-10' on Rat-L-Traps and "P.B.J" plastic stickbaits and long bluffs inside of secondary points on green pumpkin Whacky Sticks on jigheads or Texas rigged blue flake Scoundrel worms on shaky head jigs.

Smallmouth are good to almost 5 lbs. along ledges and over rockpiles in 6'- 15' using JDC tomato red curl tail grubs on jigheads, smoke red flake tubes and 3/16 oz. pumpkin Curb's jigs with matching drop shot worms.

Stripers are fair to good in the lower end vertically jigging Pirk Minnows with some early morning schooling action by mostly juvenile fish on Spoiler Shads and Red Fins.

Crappie are fair up river on minnows and crappie jigs.
