Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report
CENTRAL TEXAS FRESHWATER
Water slightly stained; 76 degrees; 824.85': Largemouth good early on creek points in 3'-7' burning 1/4 oz.
white/chartreuse Terminator spinnerbaits or Terminator buzzbaits, watermelon/chartreuse Lake Fork Magic
Shad, and TX 730 Rat-L-Traps. As the sun gets up, switch to a Texas rigged watermelon/chartreuse Creme
Scremer worm or Creme Scoundrel worm rigged wacky style and work submerged tree tops, laydowns or
stumps in 6'-18' on main channel breaklines. The "bite" is best from daylight until 9:00 AM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
White bass are fair along sandy points on 1/8th oz. chrome/blue Spin Traps and vertically jigging Horizon
Pirk Minnows where you see shad activity. Trolling small shad-type crankbaits are also working.
Crappie fishing good in 12'-20' over brushpiles on 1/32 & 1/16th oz.chartreuse or white Curb's Crappie jigs,
chartreuse Creme Tiny (or Mini) Tubes and live minnows.
Channel and yellow catfish are very good to 25 lbs. on live perch or shad, especially on trotlines.
Our clients Mike and Jase Price fished with us for two days boating some of all the species listed above, with
a couple of very good largemouth.
We offer guided trips for largemouth, smallies stripers, whites & crappie on some of the most productive lakes in central and south Texas: Canyon Lake, Lake LBJ, Choke Canyon and the Highland Chain. We offer 1/2 and full day rates on most lakes. Price includes everything necessary for fishing. Trips are prioced for 2 anglers. Additional charge for a third person.
