Red Hot Blue Catfish Action On Eagle Mountain Lake

Capt. Chad Ferguson
April 20, 2011
Eagle Mountain Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Spring is here and this is hands down my favorite time of the year for catching numbers of blue catfish with the chance for a bigger catfish mixed in here and there. The blue catfish bite is on fire at Eagle Mountain Lake and will last for another 2-3 weeks at least before it begins to slow down for the Summer. Excellent numbers are being caught every day but we have had a few days when it has been too windy to fish.

The white bass (sand bass) action is also RED HOT right now with easy limits being caught on small slabs and crank baits.

Eagle Mountain Lake Fishing Forecast:

The current bite will last for at least another two or three weeks before the blue catfish bite slows for the summer. That is when we will start fishing for channel catfish.

Target Species:

blue catfish
