Although there has been several 10-15 lbs Largemouth Bass caught at Lake Ray Roberts the previous two weeks, fishing overall was slow. That will rapidly change now that the water temperature is warming to a more productive range. Largemouth, White Bass and Crappie will migrate to the shallows for spawning and feeding over the next several weeks. It is the time of year when locating and catching these fish is at its best.

Look for fish along the shoreline in the coves, creeks and main lake points. Search for concentrations of fish with lipless crank baits and spinner baits. Once a fish or two is caught fish that area thoroughly with a variety of lures before moving on.

Your odds of catching a trophy Largemouth are much greater for the next two months than at any other time of year. If that or filling a cooler with Crappie or White Bass is your priority give me a call. I will be glad to do the work of operating the boat and trolling motor while you relax and catch fish.

Target Species:

Largemouth Bass, Crappie, White Bass
