White Bass Action Great at Ray Roberts

Capt. Jim Walling
November 21, 2014
Lake Ray Roberts - Freshwater Fishing Report

White Bass have provided some action packed trips for my clients recently. I watch my graph while idling over main lake points and humps in 25 to 35 feet of water. When a school of fish is located holding near the bottom, this is where we fish. We drop 3/4 ounce slabs to the bottom, sweep the rod tip up a foot or so and then allow the lure to flutter back to the bottom. Upon hooking the first fish it often creates a feeding frenzy. During these times the action is fast and furious. It is not unusual to catch limits of fish in an hour during one of these frenzy times.

Lake Ray Roberts Fishing Forecast:

This technique should continue through the winter months. However, as the water temperature continues to fall the fish will not be as aggressive. The fish will continue to cooperate but at a slower pace.

Target Species:

White Bass
