Sabine Lake - Saltwater Fishing Report

June 2010
Sabine Lake Fishing is great with the brown shrimp in the system. We are catching limits. Speckled Trout and Red fish, Fishing under the birds. We are fishing the south end to mid lake. Trout are up to 5 pounds. We are fishing best on outgoing tides. We look for the shrimp to come up over shell and mud bottom and the bird action starts. Louisiana shore line also holding good numbers of Speckled Trout up to 7 lbs. We are fishing the deep drops 3 foot To 4 foot water off points drifting to 7 foot water, over mussels, clam, and shell. We're keying on mullet and on this bite fishing is very slow. Birds working off icw, the north end of Sabine to east pass, speckled trout holding in 10ft to 20ft water in the icw. This bite has been every day around late afternoon. Bessie Height Marsh is also holding nice speckled trout, fishing the cuts and points off the Neches River and catching limits of trout and red fish 24 to 27 inches. Sabine pass channel is holding good numbers of flounder and red fish. The best on incoming tides, fishing 4 to 10 ft water off deep points and keying on mullet. Sabine Pass Jetties still a hit and miss, some days we are able to get there. Nice Trout also holding close to the rocks. The short rigs east of Sabine jetties holding good numbers of trout and big bull red fish. Beach Front Fishing is good on clam days with trout to 6 lbs. This is a early morning bite. With the storms in the gulf look for the fishing to pick up on Sabine lake, the brown shrimp season is on, and they will began to head to the gulf in July. Bessie height marshes and Keith lake Marshes fishing will also pick up as the tides lower. Book Your Fishing Trip Today For a Great July Coming up On Sabine Lake.
