Fishing Heating Up

Capt. Tony Bushway
May 10, 2009
Lake Champlain - Freshwater Fishing Report

We have started our 2009 season aboard the An Bradon.

We are doing very well on Salmon and Brown Trout with double digit landings in a 4 hour trip. Small spoons on the surface, leadcore and riggers are all working. The water temps are coming up and we should see surface temps at 50 on the Inland Sea any day now. The lake should be starting to set up in the next couple weeks.

Walleye season is open and there are diffrent reports coming out of the rivers depending on who you talk with. There are walleye being taken at the Sandbar Bridge at nite using deep diving plugs.

Lake Trout are heading to deeper water with the larger fish being taken on the bottom in about 50+ feet of water. Smaller lakers are also being taken on the surface. Stick Baits and large spoons both have been working.

We still have open dates for early season fishing.

Fishing is ON now and are expecting a great 2009 season.
