Fishing Update

Capt. Tony Bushway
April 28, 2009
Lake Champlain - Freshwater Fishing Report

Salmon fishing continues to heat up on lake Champlain. The Inland sea as well as The Converse Bay area are both reporting catches of Salmon and Brown Trout. Small spoons in the shallows are working best. The lake Trout fishing is also going strong at the Mouth of Winooski river north to the South Hero fill. Large spoons and stick baits on the surface doing well. There have also been reports of lakers being taken on the flats in 50 feet of water on the bottom. There are a few reports of some bass fishing but the water is still 39 degrees in the main lake. Walleye season opens Saturday May 2. Good Luck
