Lake Champlain - Freshwater Fishing Report

We have been on the water pretty steady lately, putting in some full day & evening trips in. The Salmon Bite has been best at low light,(usual for this time of year) as the early morning & late evenings have been best for them. The Thermocline has set up nicely down between 40 & 60 ft deep. We have been taking the Salmon just above that down from 25 to 40ft deep. 2&3/4" spoons in Rainbow speedy shiner, watermelon stinger & Green Gator have been doing most of the damage. Transitioning to deep water for Lakers during the mid day slow down has also been productive. Taking Lakers with inline "cow bells" has been producing some fish from 8 to 15 lbs for us. The evening top water bite for Bass & Pike is also on fire, great time to get some fishing in!

Lake Champlain Fishing Forecast:

The rest of the month of July should be pretty good befor the normal August slow down. We will be heading to Lake Ontario by the end of the month, targeting Brown Trout & of Course some BIG KING SALMON! Can't wait to see the sharks hitting the deck!
Target Species:

Salmon & Lake Trout
