Lake Champlain - Freshwater Fishing Report

We finished our Lake Ontario tour with a bang during the first week of the month with limit catchs of King & Coho Salmon and a few brown trout mixed in. The Big Kings are staging very shallow now or are already making the rivers.
Back here in Vermont the Cold water fishery has been slow on Champlain the last few weeks as the Landlock Salmon & a few Steelhead are starting to make thier way into the tributaries. As the streams continue to cool down the fish should be moving in more steady. A few browns have been caught on Woolybuggers in the local streams that werent effected by the tropical storm labor day week. The bass fishing in the local ponds & lakes is starting to heat up as Largemouths & Smallies put on the feed bag for the fall before water temps drop off. Evening top water is still on fire as the water temps are still steady. Fall colors are upon us so changes are going to be here soon! This will be our last report for the fall, see you all next spring!
