Lake Champlain - Freshwater Fishing Report

The summer weather pattern has set in and the fishing is HOT! We have been hitting some of the western Vermont Lakes, ponds & bays of Lake Champlain during the evening, with excellent top water action on poppers & torpedo lures. An occasional Northern Pike mixed in for good measure! The thermocline has set up on Lake Champlain, with good fishing temps down about 50 - 60ft deep, over 150 to 200ft of water.. Landlock Salmon, Lakers & Steelhead are hitting spoons in copper with Orange, Black & green being the best. First & last light is always best, but fish are being caught all times of the day.
Lake Champlain Fishing Forecast:

The next month or so should be good for trout & Salmon with the thermocline set up, as long as the northwest winds don't blow. The top water Bass & Pike action should stay steady in the evenings, we have many evening trips available for both warm & cold water species so give us a call!
